Jackson and I are a Tinder success story. Fortunate enough to have just clicked straight away and spent every waking minute with each other since we met.
We got engaged on the Gold Coast at the North Burleigh lookout overlooking the whole coast.
Not long after this, as we were planning our engagement party to be had on the Gold Coast, we decided that a big wedding ceremony just wasn’t for us and we wanted to elope in secret locally. We decided to plan our elopement for a month before our engagement party so we could surprise our friends and family.
Our elopement day was on 15/03/2020 which was also our dating anniversary. We ended up being joined by our parents and a few siblings so not really an elopement in the end. We kept it as traditional as possible, sleeping apart the night before and then we had a “first look” in the Treasury Gardens. The ceremony was at the Treasury Building and was incredibly personal and beautiful. Following the ceremony and photos, we went to Penny Young in Moonee Ponds which was the bar we both had our first date at 2 years prior to the day! The night was really lovely, plenty of drinks were had, and overall a really successful day.Unfortunately, COVID restrictions came in a few days after our wedding so we’ve had to postpone our “engagement party” until interstate travel resumes and restrictions lift. We announced our surprise marriage to our friends and family online
